Let’s Dream!

When you enter a Kindergarten classroom, it is not uncommon to find the idea of “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Parents, teachers, and students are inspired by this idea—it is the essence of dreaming. Just recently, I popped into my nephew Miles’ Kindergarten classroom, and apart from running to give me a bear hug (which filled my tank)—you could feel the anticipation of good things for the future seeping from the classroom as other students gathered around us. He and his classmates were not wishing they were riding in strollers, they are dreaming about what could be and those around them are inspired and excited. Sometimes the more we experience life, we can stop the dreamer God put within us. Dreaming is from the Lord—it is looking to the future with anticipation and hope with a strong vision. So, today start by tapping into your dreamer by envisioning with these practical steps:

  • Identify what matters to you.
  • Clarify your Core Values.
  • Define what growth looks like.
  • Actively imagine your goals.

As you think through each of these steps, dreams will be awakened in your soul and you will look to the future with the same sense of anticipation that a Kindergartener does.
